We’re here to bring our clients' fashion dreams to a reality. Having a custom piece made especially for you is an enjoyable and memorable experience.
The design process begins during your first appointment with Allison Rodger who talks to every client about their aspirations, ideas and inspiration for the unique piece they’d like to commission. We discuss the occasion and setting, where and when the piece will be worn. Are you a bride, the mother of the bride or groom, the host of a fabulous party? Are you coveting a wardrobe staple; a custom coat, or tailored suit for the workplace?
During the first design consultation sample garments can be tried on, and colour/s, design details and fabric options are discussed. Allison designs with luxurious fabrics that she has worked with for many years, giving her an in-depth knowledge of how they behave and flatter. Following this consultation we provide sketches and a quotation. If you wish to confirm the commission a deposit is required.
We then create a pattern using your measurements before making a “toile” (mock up) of the design. At the toile fitting Allison will pin, cut into and draw onto the cotton fabric to finesse every aspect before adjusting the pattern and cutting your chosen fabric
A series of fabric fittings follows, determined by the design and complexity of the piece. We check every detail during the fittings, the fit, line, proportion and finishing details. Your commission is perfected through the stages, and made ready for collection day when you try the finished piece which is ready to wear. Allison’s wealth of experience results in flattering lines and proportions so every client will look and feel their best, whatever the occasion.
